Although Colonial Park has only been open to the public since 2011, its character-laden holes have been entertaining golfers of all levels since 1964, when it opened as Chaparral Country Club.

With a unique yet challenging layout, this parkland-type course will inspire any player and calm the soul. Lined with billowing cottonwoods and ancient American elms, you’ll find many dog legs and target-oriented shots as you play your way along the lush, verdant fairways. The varying water features will test your strategic side while the abundant wildlife keeps you on your toes.

Our Architect

This par-72, 18-hole golf course was designed by renowned golf course architect Warren Cantrell. As a former club pro, Texas Tech golf coach, president of the PGA of America, and designer of 30 courses in West Texas and New Mexico, Cantrell significantly influenced the world of golf. In fact, this course was one of his final projects before his passing in 1967.

Some of his select courses include:

Big Spring Country Club
Big Spring, Texas

Tascosa Golf Club
Amarillo, Texas

Lovington Country Club
Lovington, New Mexico

Ocotillo Park Golf Course
Hobbs, New Mexico

River Hills Country Club
Corpus Christi, Texas

Born in Hillsboro, Texas, and a lifelong lover of golf, we admire Cantrell’s loyalty to his roots, his family, and all he did for the game. In fact, nearly six decades later, we live out those same values here today.

So, if you’re looking for a second home in this great, small town, look no further than Colonial Park.
